No, they are essentially heroes, so no PvE skills.

Costumes and festival gear DO carry over, so if you use a character wearing a costume, they will end up wearing the costume when you use them as heroes.

As mentioned by Silmar, Heroes always have armor, even if they are naked.

Only if you want to. Like most other fancy stuff in GW (BDSs, VSs, etc.), there's no real advantage to it, and it is a matter of choice.

and then again it's not only a skin, but also the ability to have as many (up to 7) heroes of any profession you desire without limitations of regular hero availability. eg: 7 eles, 7 necros, 7 monks, etc.

But yeah, nobody is forcing anybody to purchase merc slots, they are just an extra for those who want them

The merc doesn't come with a pet. But you could already, and can still, dupe pets using the Zaishen Menagerie. If your real ranger takes that rainbow phoenix to the Zaishen Menagerie and "saves" it there, all your merc rangers can just go there and generate one to tame for themselves.

Here is a good question...

Can any character you have equip the merc hero as soon as it is made?
Do you need to be lvl 20 or have an existing hero already before you can equip a merc hero?
Could a Faction char equip a merc hero and at what point in the game?
Could a pre searing char equip a merc hero?

You need to speak to the Merc Recruiter before you can use them - AFAIK that's the only limitation.
So no pre-searing heroes.

Yes,but you can't equip yourself basically. I can't use Calista as a merc while on Calista :P

No,the char needs to be level 20 before you can apply a merc slot to it though.

You can go outside Kaineng and literally just get MOX,so I would assume that once your hero panel is unlocked,speak to the recruiter and it should give you your mercs.

this is an awesome update if i could really be bothered does this mean that i could make 4 pve/pvp necros then make them mercinaries and run around with 7 inc my heros? +my necro making it an 8 necro party? this seems a little silly, but if it would work im gunna go home and buy 4 new char slots and the mercenary pack

Just make one pvp necro, add it as a merc, reroll it as a new pvp necro with a new name, add it again, etc.

So now we can have two Discord Groups in the same party? 3 as heroes and 3 as Mercs? That should be dangerous. Of course you could before if you had a buddy, but now as solo.

Or any other multi-hero specific builds.

So a Merc template survives after the char is deleted?

And the char survives after the Merc is created too. Right? I want to make sure that I can play my chars after I make them as Merc and everything I've seen implies that.

But I'm surprised to find out that the Merc template survives after the Char is deleted. Anybody actually tried that?

I have a question, it is about books you get for doing missions in NM or in HM. You acquire books to do NM/HM Missions with the name of your toons. Then make full mercenary party of this toons, and transfer all 7 books to toon you want to play. Gear up mercenary party and do Missions are the books filed or not ? Because you have that name mercenary in your party ? or they get another code when they are created as mercenary and books are not linked ?

Basically if i do one Mission, are the other books filed with that mission too ?

The rainbow phoenix doesn't appear in the zaishen menagerie if you enter there with a hero.
